Happy Monday!
I hope you're staying safe and finding things to do around the house. It feels like I've spent more time in our backyard in the last 2 months than the last 5 years.
Plus we've added a few tree swings which makes things WAY more fun.
🤧 April is a month of dust collecting. I’ve partnered with Rockler to giveaway their Dust Right Wall-Mount Dust Collector. The thing is pretty awesome and will make a great addition to your shop.
You can earn a bunch of extra entries after signing up so get on it!

🛠 Last week I mentioned the site Laser Tweets. I'm still kicking myself for not thinking of this idea before.
Since then I wanted to whip together a few myself. Here is my first Ron Swanson inspired laser engraved tweet.
🎙I also just put out a podcast episode with Zac Builds. He is taking the strips of wood lots of people use to make cutting boards and turning them into 3D objects.
Check out the full episode here.
🤖I'm a big fan of Matt Denton. He has done work on the most recent Star Wars movies including the development of BB-8. He has a great series on his YouTube channel that goes through the entire build process of the newest droid: D-0.
Specifically, he gets into his design process in going from a concept to a 3D printed part here.
📷On a less technical side (but super useful) is a great camera jib that Woby Designs put together. Woby usually is known for the awesome stuff he makes with skateboards, but this is a great example of how a CNC can solve practical problems in your shop.
📈While not totally making related, this article on the shift in the media industry was a great read. The explosion of content over the past decade has shifted the power from the gatekeepers (big TV networks, record labels, etc.) to the content creators. And with so much content, the importance of having it curated is even more important.
It gave me a good bit to think about around this newsletter. My goal is always to curate the stuff I find and send it straight to you.
🪑I've been thinking a lot about chairs lately, especially outdoor lounger styles. I stumbled across this design by German furniture maker Jonas Winkler and I can't tell if I'm more excited about bending the wood or weaving the seat.
👍🏻If you’re are finding value I’d love it if you share it with a friend or two. You can send them here to sign up.
Also if you come across anything interesting let me know, just hit reply to this newsletter to send it my way.
Till Next Time
Go Make or Break something in your shop,
